Week Five articals

The first artical I read “Top Ten Mistakes In Web Design” was very interesting. The artical told you the top ten things that makes a website not user friendly. This artical was interesting because it told me about not making the webpage very text heavy so people wont get intimedated and don’t make your page look like an advertisment so people don’t ignore it. As well the artical talked about making sure your webpage is consistant so the viewer knows how everything works and do not have to get worried about hitting a button, and let the viewer know what page they have already visited. These are really good tips that i can use to make my webpage more usable to the viewer.

 The second artical I read was “top ten worest web sites to navigate in 2006′” witch was interesting the auther told what was wrong and why he had problems with the sites. Some of the problems he had where not being able to read the websites, not finding his way around the sites, the site not having any usful information on what it was about. I thought it was interesting because now that I know these things I can make sure that I try to go over my site and make sure that I do not have these problems.

Week three articals

The first artical was interesting because it talked about the limitations that us as graphic designers have to used to such as the screen sizes that most people use and the colors that most operating systems will have so that your design  will not look different on each computer you go to and this artical also talked about the graphic files that you should use for the web witch are gif. and jpeg. files because they can upload fast and look on screen.

 The second artical that I read was about the color safe pallet and why we have it. Back in the day not alot of people had color cips that where more than 8-bits so that would only have 256 colors and the color safe pallet works off of 216 colors so if some one does have an older computer they can still view your website and have the colors look the same.

Images and Using Dreamweaver

This was a fun exercise it wasn’t that hard I got to use pictures I liked and make these pages for the guys in my photos that I picked out. I had a great time doing this project.

Week 3

When I did this assignment I learned how to add a picture to your page and that you can change the demensions of it if you need to or add a boarder or what ever you need to do to the picture. I also learned that their are several different ways to make links for you page and you can change the size or you font and color and typeface.

Seminar

The seminar was very informational I like that they have premade layouts in the css that you can use and change to the format that you need. I also like that you can create a documents in photoshop and once you put it in dreamwever it keeps very thing the same and you can go in and change things on the photoshop document and it can update your page if you need to update any information.
